New Location

The Office of Teaching Learning has moved into the new South High St. location. Our new address is:

Southland Center

3700 S. High Street

Columbus, OH 43207

We have a lot of work to do to get everything up and running. We plan to have most of our PD and department chair meetings at this new location. The Geometry Academy and MS Visible Learning PD (see below) will also be held at this new location.

Email is always the best method, but you can reach Steve directly at: 380-997-0469

New Resources in the Works!

As you know, ODE provides sample released test items and practice items for each AIR test. We are taking each grade level's questions and arranging them by state standard into one large, complete document. As of now, we have Math 6 and Math 7 ready to go (see below). As each is completed, it will be added to the Digital Resource Binder.

NEW PLDs for Integrated Math I and II

Performance Level Descriptors help us understand where kids are in each course. However, they can be confusing as they span multiple pages. We have compiled all the information for each course into one spreadsheet. Please check them out and let us know what you think. Once edited, they will be added to the Digital Resource Binder.

Testing is coming up!

Identified students should continue working in their ALEKS Math 6 accounts to prepare for the placement test in March. They should also be working in their special Math 7 accounts to prepare them for the 7th grade content portion of the placement test.

Each building will choose the date(s) to test in during the week of March 18-22.

For more details, visit our website at

HS Department Chair Info

Department chair meetings run from 3:30pm - 5:30pm, usually the 3rd Wednesday of each month (see dates at right).

Our next meeting will be held on March 20 at:

Southland Center

3700 S. High St. Room 129

Geometry proofs are test on AIR test in ways that we don't always teach. For instance, students often are given a proof with missing reasons and/or statements. They then choose from a list of choices from an answer bank. They drag and drop these choices into the proof to complete their response.

We are in the process of creating proofs in Edulastic that teachers will be able to use for test prep with their students. If you have not created a free account with Edulastic, it is highly recommended. You can even sign in with your CCS Google account

Check it out today:

When finished, we will let you know how you can access these new test items.

Equatio Pilot

The Equatio pilot has been extended through the end of the school year.

If you are piloting the program, we'd love to see it in action!

Please email Steve if you are interested in being added to the pilot.
