Car Rider Line

Both the morning and afternoon car rider lines are moving at a steady pace. They are still longer than normal but with over 300 cars using the line, we feel like we are doing great. It is largely due to the patience and cooperation of our parents. Thank you all for helping to make the situation a little easier on everyone.

Advanced Program Testing

The Advance Program test will be administered to all 3rd & 4th grade students this year. Any 5th grader can be tested with a completed Google Form. The testing will take place October 12, 13, and 14.

This is an informational meeting for the AP process and will answer any questions you might have. Follow the directions below to attend this virtual meeting:

Voluntary COVID Screening

Routine COVID-19 testing for those who are not symptomatic is available to students during school. This voluntary screening will be done weekly and can quickly identify individuals who may be COVID-19 positive. To participate in this testing, students must have a consent form on file. Parents or guardians can access the online form by clicking here. Once there, click on the Complete Forms link to proceed.

Shark-A-Thon Sponsors Needed

The Stopher PTA is looking for sponsors for our annual Shark-A-Thon fundraiser. If you or your business would like to donate a gift card or prize for this event, please email: or by September 12th. Please see attached document.

Get Notifications Sent Straight to Your Phone

School Messenger is the phone, email and SMS messaging system used by Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS) to communicate school cancellations, safety alerts and other important information to you. The following process will show you how to enter your contact information, set your preferences and “opt in” to continue receiving these messages from JCPS and/or your child’s school.

  • If you are a JCPS employee only, please click here for opt-in instructions.
  • If you are a JCPS parent or a JCPS employee AND parent, you may opt in by texting the letter "Y" to 67587.

If you'd like to customize the type of communications you'd like to receive on your phone or email, visit and create an account. You can also set up and manage your contact information and preferences by downloading the [Blue] SchoolMessenger app from the Apple App Store or Google Play. Riding Buses with Friends .... Not Allowed this Year!

Students can NOT ride buses home with friends this year. No Exceptions! This rule will be lifted after the COVID pandemic has ended.

Open House Canceled

The Open House event that was scheduled for September 9th has been canceled.

PTA General Meeting Postponed

The PTA General Meeting that was scheduled for September 9th is being postponed. Future date to be announced.

Lunchroom Visits


The district has mandated that we not allow parents to eat lunch with students until further notice. This is because students have their masks down during lunch and they do not want to risk unnecessary additional exposure. We will update you once they lift this new policy. Thank you for your cooperation.

Stopher 1st and 2nd Grade Cross Country Team

Stopher Cross Country for 1st through 2nd grade students starts Wednesday, September 25th at 7:00. Practice will be on Mondays and Wednesdays each week with meets on Saturdays. The first meet is scheduled for August 4. The last meet is scheduled for October 16.

For our first practice this, we will meet by the covered pavilion to the right of the main entrance to Tom Sawyer Park. Experience is not required, but a completed KHSAA physical is. Please also bring plenty of water and a towel. If you have any questions, please email Beth Burbridge
