School Wide Project for 9th-11th grade students: Market Day, May 14, 11:00 AM-2:00 PM

We are excited to have started our school-wide project for students 9th-11th grade to participate in. From April 23 and ending on May 16, this Project Based Learning Project entitled Market Day will focus on math, language arts, and economic concepts/standards involved in creating and marketing a profitable small business and using that business to help support the community.

On May 14, 2019, the Market Day will open to the public in the SSAE building from 11:00 AM-2:00 PM, where students will be selling homemade projects, food, and games. Please plan on swinging by to support not only SSAE students but the charities they have chosen to donate their profits.

The wrap-up for the project is Thursday, May 16, (after the final ALEKS Knowledge Check) when each team will write their donation letter to a local community charitable organization they have decided to donate their profits as well as calculate the profits and amount they can donate.

It is vital that all students attend every Tuesday and Thursday during this time period. (Virtual students will continue with the designated curriculum.)

Congratulations to Sabryna Nussbaum

We would like to congratulate SSAE’s senior, Sabryna Nussbaum, for winning the Skills USA state and regional competition. Sabryna attends both SSAE and the Career Start for Automotive Collision Technology program at Pike's Peak Community College. Sabryna's next step is the national competition in Kentucky where she will spend a week in June competing in estimating. She will have to hand write an estimate, calculate total loss, do a virtual estimate, and write another estimate on a real car. They will then take her total scores and add them up to see who got the closest. We wish her the best of luck!

Important Information for Seniors

ATTENTION: Rising 10th-12th grade students

All rising 10th-12th grade students will need to meet with counselors to create their schedules for next year if they haven't yet. A sign-up link has been sent to student emails. Mrs. Swann has met with rising 9th graders during class to get their elective choices and to explain their schedules.
