MTRS Student and Family Update
January 8, 2021
Dear Students and Families,
Happy New Year! I hope all of you had a wonderful, safe and healthy break. We are right back at it with school this week and look forward to continuing our work with all of you!
The final day for high school Trimester 1 courses is Tuesday, January 12. On January 14 and 15 there will be no school for students. Staff will participate in professional development on these days as we prepare for our hybrid model.
Materials Drop Off and Pick Up
High School Trimester 1 materials must be returned by Thursday, Jan. 14. There is a blue bin outside the main lobby doors to drop off materials. Please be sure to include your name on materials being returned. For courses that continue in Trimester 2, please check with teachers to determine if any materials need to be returned.
On Wednesday, Jan. 20 from 3:30 p.m.–5:30 p.m. remote learning students can pick-up materials for Trimester 2. NOTE: Remote students will be notified by Jan. 20 (1 p.m.) if they DO NOT need to pick-up materials. Hybrid students will receive their materials on their first day of in-person learning.
Hybrid Learning Model
Save the Date! We’re hosting a virtual Town Hall Meeting via our MTRS Facebook page on Wednesday, Jan. 20 at 5:30 p.m. (stay tuned to our Facebook page @mohawktrailregional for event details!) As we head to hybrid on Monday, Jan. 25, we’ll discuss procedures; what to expect; and answer student and family questions about returning to MTRS. Prior to our town hall, you’ll receive a copy of our hybrid learning handbook (via email) with information regarding schedule and safety protocols for in-person learning.
For the majority of students, cohorts were determined by last name. However, adjustments were made for blended families and child care. If this is the case for your family and the cohort is different from what is shared below, the main office will reach out to you. Information on cohorts will also be shared out during advisory. Please feel free to contact us with any questions.
Cohort A - Monday/Tuesday in person - Last Name A-H
Cohort B - Thursday/Friday in person - Last name I-Z
Bus routes: If you identified a need for bus transportation, the routes have been posted on the district website at www.mtrsd.org/transportation.
Hybrid Schedule
Students will be assigned into 3 cohorts: A, B or fully remote. Cohort A will attend in person on Monday and Tuesday. Cohort B will attend in person Thursday and Friday. Wednesdays will be fully remote (exception WiFi hub students).
Wednesday schedules will remain as is. All students will be remote (exception of WiFi hub students)
