Lady Wolverines Volleyball
PSJA Memorial High School
History in the making.
This past 2013-2014 volleyball season was one of the most memorable seasons PSJA Memorial has experienced yet. There was countless hours of practice, humbling losses, and moral-boosting victories. Without a doubt, the Lady Wolverines record, does not do justice to the heart and dedication the Lady Wolverines put in.
Stick together.
Brianna Lopez (libero in white #1) gives captain Erika Martinez, a low 10, while team mate Luise Koehl looks on. The sisterhood and unity that this years team shared left a smile on their faces and a hunger in their hearts.
Head Coach Angie Gonzales / Varsity Assistant Coach Miranda Guajardo
With new Head Coach Angie Gonzales things were going to be different. Early on in the season Coach Angie Gonzales, Coach Miranda Guajardo, Coach Lizzy Esparza, Coach Jorge Rodriguez, and Coach Gloria Garza; held parent meetings, team meetings, conditioning days, team building activities and coaches meetings to strategize for the upcoming season. Coach Gonzales envisioned a team that stood together and genuinly enjoyed each others company, BEYOND the court, and that's exactly what she got; a bond that can never be broken, memories that will never be lost, and a love for the sport and each other, that will last forever. This years volleyball team created a new passion for volleyball never before witnessed at PSJA Memorial. Attendance to games was up and support from parents was obvious. The girls put in extra time on their own and willingly worked on strategies and techniques on their own. Participating in community service projects, parades, movie nights, and game film reviewing, are a few of the many activities these girls chose to do together. This was without a doubt a monumental year in what the future holds for PSJA Memorial Lady Wolverines Volleyball.
