Calendaring this morning!
Mama of 3, wife, friend, church leader, Jesus follower....and it's almost May! You know that that means?! The calendar is doubly filling up with end of the year parties and concerts and meetings and fun! As I sit here with my coffee and google calendar, I am thankful for my full life. I know your calendar is doing the same.
So while this is a fun and exhausting ride, where do we find peace? We find it with Jesus. I have been working hard to spend more time in God's word, and I am finding that his power and his love for me have been a huge comfort and source of hope when I am feeling overwhelmed, stressed, anxious, or inadequate.
He's waiting to spend time with you too. Despite the crazy busy schedule, plan some time with him. Don't know where to start? A good place to start is the scriptures your kiddos are learning this week, so that you can talk with them about it. (See below)
God's word will rule, and He will make it all work for you in the ways that He knows best. Trust His will. And, don't forget to add him to your calendar!
Allison Rattenborg loves supporting and cheering for families and bringing them closer to Jesus. Collecting Stories...
On Palm Sunday, kiddos were given a bag of plastic eggs and asked to "egg" a neighbor or friend to share the love of Christ. We would love to know your story! If your family was able to take part in this fun discipleship opportunity, please email Allison with your story @ allisonr@northminster.us.
We want to share the love of Christ to kiddos, teens, and adults! Register your kids to the experience and/or yourself to make a difference in the life of a child!
April Preschool Kid Groups
This Sunday in Preschool Kid Group...
ACTS 2:42-47 More and more people start following Jesus. Everyone shares what they have so that no one in the church goes without what they need.Preschoolers will be learning about how God asked Paul to love him and love his neighbors.
Family Challenge during car time: When you get in the car, talk with your child about where you are going and the people you will see. Brainstorm ways you can love the people where you are going so you’re ready when you get out of the car. Grocery store? A big smile and “have a nice day” works. Getting a haircut? Sitting still and saying “thank you” are great ways to show some love. Play date with friends? Sharing and giving a hug or a high five are always good ideas.

Bottom Line April 10, 2016
Hebrews 12:1 tells us that "we are surrounded by a cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that will so easily entangles. And, let us run with perseverance the race marked for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus." This great cloud of witnesses are encouragements to keep going and not give up. It’s amazing, but any situation you face this week, someone in that cloud or another cloud has faced it before and has trusted God and shown perseverance. No matter what happens this week, when life gets hard, remember how others persevered.”
