Monte Gardens Community,
November is just around the corner with the end of the first trimester approaching! Your students have grown so much already in the first ten weeks of school. Thank you for sharing them with us.
I wanted to share some information with you all about our Single Plan for Student Achievement that will go to the school Board to be approved in December. The Single Plan is the plan that outlines our goals for the year and how our school budget is spent. School Site Council, teachers and leadership team have all revised updated our plan for the year. I will be presenting our plan at our next School Site Council Meeting on November 1. A brief summary of our goals is below:
Goal 1- All students will receive a high quality education in a safe and welcoming environment with equitable high expectations, access to technology, and Common Core State Standards that prepare them to be college, career and ready to be successful adult members of their community.
Goal 2- Parents, family and community will be informed, engaged and connected as partners with Monte Gardens' staff to support student learning.
Goal 3- High quality, culturally proficient, and responsive staff will be supportive of students, respectful of all students' backgrounds and invested in the education of all students.
Our goal is to provide a quality education to all students at Monte Gardens and to work in conjunction with parents to achieve this.
Thank you for your continued efforts to support Monte Gardens with your volunteer and fundraising efforts, your students truly benefit. Congratulations to Ms. Muller's second grade students for bringing in the most Walk-a-thon money. They will get to play in a kickball game against staff in November.
I look forward to seeing you all tonight at Carn-o-ween! Students have all been very excited for this community event.
Our Volunteer Training has been rescheduled to Monday, November 6, at 2:00-2:30 in the MU. All room parents should plan on attending to receive information and be able to share with parents in their class. Any regular volunteers should also plan on attending.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Student attendance is one of the leading indicators in academic success. Much of what is covered in class is not replicable through and Independent Study contract. Please work to prioritize education and plan trips around the school calendar.
