Abandoned church caught fire during picnic.

By: Tiernan Keyser

Today the abandonded church up on Jay mountain caught on fire during a picnic with young children in it. 2 young men went inside the building to save the children. These people are Ponyboy Curtis and Jhonny cade. Ponyboy came out of the bulding after all the chidren were acounted for. He is stable now in the hospital witih his brothers. Jhonny made Ponyboy get out as result of that a big limb of wood fell on Jhonny. Dallas Winston the other person burned by the fire was Dallas Winston and he went into the fire to save Jhonny. Ponyboy Curtis wasn't as badly hurt as the others but was also burned by the fire. Dallas Winston was burned on the arm pretty badly but is expected to feel fine and use his arm to its full potential in a couple of weeks. Jhonny, he has a broken nack and really bad 3rd degree burns all over. We aren't allowed talk to him but as it sounds if he makes it if he lives through this terrible accident he should be crippled from the waist down for the rest of his life. If it wasn't for these three the children wouldn't have made it out of that closet in the fire. The three boys are heroes no argument there. I wonder who they were going to save next.

I think that Johnny Cade and Ponyboy Curtis are two very big heros. Some people in that position wouldn’t have saved the children like they did. I don’t think that Johnny Cade should go to jail because it was in self defense. He was doing the right thing because they were drowning his friend Ponyboy Curtis. Also i think that Ponyboy and his brother Sodapop should not go to a boys home because the Curtis’s have been through a lot after losing their parents in a car wreck. These brothers need to stick together. I think that the oldest brother Darryl Curtis is very responsible is taking good care of them.
