Staff Book Study: What Happened To You

CCI Teachers and Staff are reading "What Happened to You" by Dr. Bruce Perry and Oprah Winfrey as a book study. We thought that parents would be interested as the book discusses how our childhood experiences shape who we become as adults. Here's part 3/7. We hope you enjoy!

Transportation Information

Does your child ride a bus?

Students who ride a SED school bus are reminded of safety and behavior expectations.

  • Students should remain seated while the bus is in motion.
  • Students should face forward.
  • Students should keep their hands to themselves--no touching others.
  • Voice levels should remain normal, with no screaming or yelling.
  • No foul language or inappropriate hand gestures.
  • No food or drinks, with the exception of water bottles.
  • All school rules apply

Riding a school bus is a privilege, not a requirement by SED. Please ensure that your students are adhering to the rules. Students who do not follow these rules will receive school consequences and may be removed from the bus.

Attendance

When a student is unable to attend school due to illness or other causes, parents/guardians are required to notify your child’s homeroom teacher and school office by 7:50. Please note parent name, student name, homeroom teacher, and reason for absence.

If a student needs to leave school during the day for a health-related appointment, please give your homeroom teacher and the school office advance notice of the appointment and time. This will allow staff to prepare for departure and missed schoolwork. Students shall be picked up at the office (Door 1). If someone other than a parent/guardian or person with permission (with a signed note on file at the office) is picking up the student, special directions to permit the child to leave must be received from the parent/guardian. No student shall be released to someone other than a parent/guardian or another pre-approved person.

Please contact the office at 812-817-0900 Extension 2 or holli.land@sedubois.k12.in.us

Doctors’ notes are required for health-related appointments

In lieu of a Traditional Fundraiser

Instead of selling items to friends and family, we are asking for your help! We are hoping to raise enough money to fund our end-of-year field trips for students. Our goal is $5,000. We have money through the Ranger gear sales and the Trivia Night event. We have also had parents make donations so our total is higher than it was yesterday. If every student donates $19, we will reach our goal! If your family is feeling generous, you could sponsor your child and a family who cannot afford the $19. Thank you in advance!
