Distinguished School
I wanted to share with you the importance of good attendance for your child and for our school. At a recent Principal's meeting it was noted that Linda Vista is one of ten schools in OUSD that met all of the requirements to receive the California Distinguished School award except in the area of Chronic Absenteeism. This indicator notes how many students have 90% attendance or lower. The goal for every child in school is to have an attendance rate of 95% or higher (9 days absent for the entire year). If your child has received an attendance alert letter this year, it is because their attendance rate has dropped to 90% or lower. But the year is not over! There is time for your child to increase their attendance rate & their learning! Every day your child is here, their attendance rate improves a little bit. Please do your best to ensure your child attends every school day, well rested and ready to learn.

Congratulations to our Linda Vista Band teacher, Ms. Sharp, for being nominated for the Orange County Music and Arts Award! Well-Deserved!
Saturday Enrichment Academy
Our students are having a blast at Saturday Enrichment Academy! Students love the active learning in smaller settings!
So far, Linda Vista Students have made up 70 days of school! This is amazing!
We have two more SEAs coming - March 18th and April 22. Hope to see you there!
