9 Ways to Cultivate Courage in Kids by Dr. Michele Borba
Part 1 of 9
Model courage. Kids who watch their parents stick their necks out to do the right thing are more likely to do the same. Let your child see you step out of your comfort zone, whether it’s tackling your fear of heights or speaking up to your boss. Then express how good it feels when you conquer your fear instead of taking a shortcut. Kids learn how to take on the tough challenges they face from witnessing how you tackle your own fears.

Give a Leopard a High Five!
The Leopard High Five program is a way for you to salute any Gainesville ISD employee who goes above and beyond what is expected. Whether you are a parent impressed with that special touch your child's teacher added to a moment, or you are a co-worker who thinks the campus PEIMS clerk doesn't hear often enough about the great job she is doing, you can send a Leopard High Five! Nominations can be made by any parent, student, community member, or co-worker and any employee within Gainesville ISD is eligible to receive a High Five. Give lots of High Fives to anyone who has positively impacted your child at school!
The link is located on our website and is always open for nominations.
Mobile app ensures easy access to parent portal
Parent portal is where you completed the online registration, but also is where you can access all of your child's grades, absences, attendance, discipline referrals, and more. You can also subscribe to alerts by email and/or text message for things such as a grade below 90, and average below 80, missing assignments, etc. This helps prevent surprises at progress report and report card time!
