New Feature in Canvas
S9GS T.I.M. Tips
Customize your Course Card in Dashboard!
A new feature has been opened up in Canvas. This feature enables you to add an image to the colored course cards on the Dashboard in Canvas. *See the screenshot.
A few things:
- All teachers are able to do this.
- The color overlap will still be on the cards.
- If you add an image, you will need to select an overlap color that compliments the image.
Example dashboard with images on some of the course cards:
Color Options- 256 RGB Web Safe colors
If you want to use another color that is not a default option in Canvas (like gray or white)...
On the course card:
- Click on the "edit" button on the card.
- At the bottom you will see a #sign and some letters/numbers.
- Every color has a special html code. To change to a non-default color, you can use the chart below.
- For example, the code for beige is #F5F5DC.
For even more color options, Google search:
- html color codes
- hex codes
- css color charts
