Lexile & Qunatile Hub

The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) partners with MetaMetrics to provide Lexile and Quantile measures on the end-of-grade and end-of-course reading and mathematics assessments. Lexile measures are also reported on the Read to Achieve Local Alternate Assessments. A benefit of this partnership is the free resources available to our teachers, parents, and students. Teachers must register for the Lexile® & Quantile® Hub with their school email address to gain access to resources that support student learning and growth in reading and mathematics. A detailed list of these resources can be found on the NCDPI Lexile® and Quantile® webpages.

Highlighted below are a few of the resources on the Lexile® & Quantile® Hub.

Lexile® Find a Book (for teachers, parents, and students)

Search among over half a million books using the Find a Book book browser that:

  • Offers previews of challenging words and their definitions for each book.
  • Identifies the Lexile level and vocabulary by chapter for over 1,600 popular books.
  • Creates and manages personal book lists that can be shared.
  • Searches by a student’s Lexile measure or range, grade level, or interests.

Lexile® & Quantile® Career Database (for teachers, parents, and students)

Identify the Lexile level and/or Quantile level associated with the reading and/or math demands of a particular career in this new tool.

Lexile® Growth Planner and Quantile® Growth Planner (for teachers, parents, and students)

  • Forecast college and career readiness with Lexile and Quantile measures.
  • Compare individual student results to national student performance.
  • Explore career options along with expected reading/math demands.

Quantile® Summer Math Challenge (for students)

In addition to the free resources, MetaMetrics developed a Quantile® Summer Math Challenge for students. This challenge is to help students who have just completed any grade 1–8 retain their math skills with fun activities and links to educational resources throughout a six-week program. The Summer Math Challenge begins on the third Monday of June.
