Art Exhibition

Thursday, March 17th, 3pm to Friday, March 18th, 5pm

19 Sha Wan Drive

Our Art Exhibition and Auction is held every other year and gives us a chance to showcase the artistic talents of our students.

Each class has produced an original collaborative work of art, with every student actively involved in their class picture. The students are proud of the work that they have produced, and you will have the opportunity to see these pictures when they are on display in the school hall during the 3-way conferences.

All of the artwork will be auctioned, and you can bid for the pieces in two ways:

  • During the 3-way conference – you can write your bid on the bid sheet beside the artwork
  • Online – you can click on the link from the Art Exhibition page (there is a Quicklink on the school’s home page) on the school website to bid on the piece of your choice.

Throughout the auction you can check the current bid for any piece on the website.

The auction will close at 12:00noon on Wednesday 23rd March.

Term 2 Ends Thursday 24th March

Term 3 Begins Friday Monday 11th April

Meet the PTA!

Our Vice-Chair is Vicki Rummun:

Hi I am Vicki and although I am new to the PTA this is our seventh year in Hong Kong. I have two children in the school - Lucas in year 5 and Darcey in year 2. I'm really looking forward getting stuck in at the PTA!

Please pop by next Friday for a quick coffee to meet us and any ideas / thoughts you have!

Our Honorary Treasurer is Graham Moore:

I have been a Kennedy parent since the summer of 2013, with one son, Melichar, who is now in class 3C.

Our Honorary Secretary is Melissa Fitzgerald:

Melissa has been on the PTA since 2014. She is from the US and has been living in HK since 2007. She has two boys at Kennedy, Year 1 and Year 4. She serves as Class parent, volunteers in support of school activities, and she is also a Supply EA. Her professional background is hotel management where she has led sales teams for Starwood Hotels and Resorts in Washington, DC for over 14 years. She enjoys running, fitness and travel.

Parent Members:

Japneet Chahal:

"My name is Japneet Chahal, been on the PTA since last 2.5 years, my daughter is in Year 3 and my son is in Year 1. Besides raising my two adorable children, I run a successful cake business and I love to Crossfit. Kennedy School is a great educational institution with incredible teachers and fantastic resources available to the children. Really pleased that I am able to volunteer my time towards the PTA and the school."

Christine Chang:

Christine Chang has been living in HK for the past 10 years with her husband and 2 children. Christine became a Kennedy parent in 2012 and has been a member of the PTA committee since 2014. Christine has an MBA from Leicester University and an MA in teaching Chinese as a foreign language from HK Polytechnic University.

Amanda Grange:

I have lived in HK for 3.5 years and have 2 children at Kennedy School in Years 1 and 3. I have been on the PTAfor 6 months and joined because I love the community feel of the school and want to contribute to the events and organisation that make the PTA and Kennedy such a close community.

Georgina Lindbergh:

I have lived in HK for 10 years, before that London. I have 3 children, 2 of whom are at Kennedy School. My daughter is in Year 3 and my son in Year 1, and I am a huge fan of Kennedy and the community we have. I have been on the PTA for over 2 years, and have enjoyed every event and beneficial purchase that we have been able to contribute to the school.

Aside from ferrying my children to and fro, I am also involved with the 20th Island Brownie Pack, which is linked to Kennedy school.

Rebecca Marthinussen:

My family and I moved to HK three years ago from London. I was the Treasurer of an oil trading company before I had Max, who is in Year 3. Max's brother, Isaac, will be starting in Year 1 in August this year. Outside school, I'm an active member of a small charitable organisation.

Robyn Mobbs:

Robyn joined the PTA committee at the AGM last month, her children are in Years 4 and 6, and joined Kennedy School last year.

Louise van Dijk:

I have been in Hong Kong for 3 years, and have 2 children in Kennedy School, one in Year 2 and one in Year 3. I joined the PTA committee two years ago, and enjoy being an active member of the school community through the PTA.

John Wacker:

I have been involved with the school for almost six years and have a daughter, Jessica, in Year Six and a son, George, in Year Three. And in 2020, we will be starting at Kennedy School all over again! I joined the PTA in 2013 and served for three years as vice-chair and am continuing as a parent member. I also serve as the PTA’s representative to the School Council. In my spare time I work as a lawyer at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. As reflected in the IB and CIS reports, we have a fantastic community at Kennedy School. This is due in no small part to the efforts of the PTA and other parent volunteers throughout the year. We are really ramping up our fundraising efforts this year in order to contribute more meaningfully to a revamped school hall. So it would be good if as many of you as possible can pitch in during the year ahead.
