Education and contributuions.
Erwin Schrödinger studied at the University of Breslau, University of Zürich, Humboldt University of Berlin, University of Oxford, University of Graz, Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies, and Ghent University.
His main contributions to the scientific community are his quantum mechanical wave equation. And the theory about a cat.
Breif summary.
- Schrödinger was a scientist who worked mostly on the physics of waves and the theoretical outcomes of experiments. Schrödinger’s equation for quantum mechanical waves is used to see the evolution of a wave’s function, which means that the equation is used to see what happens to a wave after a certain amount of time. However Schrödinger’s most well-known theory is the theory about his cat. The theory goes that if you place a cat in a box, then pump the box full of toxins that have a chance at killing the cat, then before you open the box the cat is both dead and alive because we do not know what happened in the box. Schrödinger is known as the father of quantum mechanics due to his wave equation. Schrödinger passed away on January 4th 1961.
