Good afternoon and Happy December!
Only a few short weeks in this month until we will have our winter break. It's hard to believe! In the next few days, we will begin creating an evergreen tree in our hallway with all of our students' handprints. These handprints will overlap representing a sense of belonging in our school and its importance for all of our students. We will talk about how each handprint is unique and special just like each of us.
Some families have asked about Winter Parties. We will follow a similar protocol to what we did with our Fall Friendship Parties. Room parents will be able to work with the classroom teachers to create some fun activities. I'd like us to limit the number of parents supporting these activities in class to 2 per classroom. These could be the room parents. Crafts and fun activities could be part of this celebration. If small pre-packaged treats are brought in, they can be sent home with the students.
Report cards will be available online in Infinite Campus next week. Our grading system is based upon expectations as aligned with the Wisconsin State Standards. Proficiency is formed with a preponderance of evidence over time and teachers will report on standards addressed during the current grading period. After report cards are shared, please feel free to reach out with any questions.

Lincoln Lightning Spirit Wear Swap!!!
Drop off any Lincoln Spirit Wear that no longer fits your child (or things you do not need) next week in our office. Our PTO will then sort and organize this used spirit wear and we will have a Spirit Wear Swap in early December inside of our outdoor classroom. Reduce… Reuse… Recycle! It’s good for the environment and great for our school spirit! Please see our PTO Facebook page to follow the trade!

*Soft Landing for Morning Entry - 8:00-8:15am at our Underwood Ave. entrance. Please utilize our 'Hug and Go' area and be mindful of the handicapped parking area in the middle. Also, our neighbors would ask that you not block their driveways during this time and dismissal.

Mask Reminder
This is a friendly reminder that students should arrive at school each day with their own mask or other face covering. Each school building maintains a supply of masks; however, these are not intended to be a student’s primary face covering each day. Please remind your student to bring their mask (and a spare) or other face covering to school with them daily.
Leadership Club Toy Collection
In December we will be collecting toys for the Cardiac ICU at Children's Hospital. We will be collecting the toys (must be new; not used) from December 1-22. Collection boxes will be in the main entryway and near the elevators.

Volunteers/Visitors
In an effort to make Lincoln the safest possible environment for our children, we ask that all visitors and volunteers please sign in at the office (Driver’s License required) and always wear a nametag identifying yourself as a visitor, including volunteering on our playground and our outdoor classroom. All staff members have been directed to ask adults not wearing proper identification to return to the office. We know you agree that safety must be our number one concern.
Also, we request that all volunteers and chaperones complete a background check verification form. We no longer use paper applications. In compliance with board policies, our district began this procedure a few years ago. We’re sorry for the inconvenience but this practice ensures the safest environment for our children. The completed background checks are valid for three years.
Breakfast Served 8:00 - 8:15am
Please note that we will be serving breakfast from 8:00am - 8:15am during our soft-landing. We will stop serving at 8:15am so that students will have time to finish up and be ready to learn for our school start time of 8:20am. If your child would like breakfast, please try to have them at school early during our soft-landing.
