Summer Reading Scavenger Hunt!!!
Dear Rising K - 5th Grade Parents,
Attached is the Reflection Journal for this summer's Summer Reading Scavenger Hunt! A hard copy will also be going home with your child this week. The journal is easy to follow and I have explained the program to the students. I'm really excited to be bringing back our reading party on the first day of school!
If students complete the Summer Reading Scavenger Hunt, they should bring their completed and signed Reflection Journal on the first day of school. At 11:30am, after the half-day dismissal, participating students will have a pizza lunch and a live scavenger hunt!
I am hoping this will be fun for our students and expose them to different types of reading. Feel free to contact me with any questions that you might have and I hope you all have a wonderful and restful summer!
Blessings,
Tori Safe
PS- Remember to check out the summer reading program at our local public library! And win a Pizza Hut Personal Pan Pizza for reading! Sign up by clicking on the following link. https://www.bookitprogram.com/programs/book-it
IXL Summer Slam!
Dear Parents,
As an incentive to practice math skills over the summer, we have created the IXL SUMMER SLAM! It is open to all students, including middle school students.
**Master 30 skills over the summer (3 per week)- Candy Prize!
**Master 40 skills over the summer (4 per week)- 2 NUT Cards!
**Master 50+ skills over the summer (5 per week)- Ice Cream Sundae Party!
The students are familiar with how to use IXL but I have created some short instructional videos to help you (and them) navigate from home. The videos are below. It is important to note that students must log in on our specific St. Francis IXL webpage or they will not be able to log in. Here is the link: https://www.ixl.com/signin/stfrancissc

As always, feel free to contact me if you have any questions. Have a great summer!

Tori Safe
Coach’s Corner
THANK YOU TO OUR AMAZING ATHLETIC SPONSORS!! Due to the generosity of our donors over the summer, the school has been able to purchase several large pieces of equipment (Dr. Dish and the AcuSpike), as well as, new team uniforms for both the boys’ soccer and senior girls’ volleyball teams. The SFCS Athletic Department is excited to celebrate the school’s 25th Anniversary this upcoming year and would like to invite you to become a part of our “Booster Club.” Did you know that 100% of all monies brought in by the various Athletic Sponsorship Packages goes directly back into the Athletic Program? However, the money brought in by gate admissions often goes towards paying for the referees and game officials. If your family plans on attending home sporting events or the “Tip-Off Classic” tournaments this year, please consider purchasing one of the sponsorship packages so that the money may stay in-house! For your convenience, a Sponsorship Package and Pricing Form has been attached.
Starting up a new team and bringing back a couple of other programs…Baseball and Girls’ Cross Country Programs are making a comeback, while Softball hopes to make its grand debut next spring! More and more kids are interested in playing sports here at St. Francis, and the Athletic Department will continue to explore ways to offer something for every young athlete!
Looking for coaches in the following sports…Basketball, soccer, baseball and softball…if interested, please send me an email at mweaver@sfcshhi.com. Coaches have a great opportunity to make an impact in a child’s life!
Mark your calendars…this year’s Volleyball Tip-Off Classic will be September 8-10th in the school’s gym with (8) local schools vying for the crown. Hope you’ll come out to watch some excellent volleyball and support our Lady Wolves!!
Want to see the latest on SFCS Athletics?!?! Please join the St. Francis Families Facebook page…I will post pics and occasionally, add some commentary, to keep everyone up-to-date with all the latest happenings for our teams throughout the year.

FSA Back to School BBQ RSVP
Please join us on Sunday, August 8th at Chaplin Park from 4-6pm for a Back to School Kickball Social and BBQ! This was such a fun event in the past and we are so excited to be able to bring it back! We will provide the equipment for a game of kickball as well as hot dogs and hamburgers. Keep your eye out for a pot luck style sign up genius for sides and drinks. Please bring your yard games, footballs, lawn chairs, coolers, and anything else for a great time. This is a great way to reconnect with everyone before the new school year kicks off and an awesome way to get to know and welcome new families to SFCS. We hope to see you there!
