March News and Notes

March Madness

Think March is all about basketball competitions? Think again! All of our science tournaments take place this month and are a blast for kids, teachers, and parents alike.
The pictures above are from the Title I Elementary Science Olympiad Tournament that was held at Fair Oaks. Sixteen teams competed this year in 23 different events.

Several Cobb schools have teams competing in the Inventure Challenge at Georgia Tech on March 15th. The teams choose their own problem, design a solution, and then pitch their design to Georgia Tech staff and industry leaders.

Cobb is also hosting the state tournament for the Middle School Science Olympiad on March 18th at South Cobb High School. The following six Cobb middle schools will be competing: Campbell, Dickerson, Dodgen, East Cobb, Hightower Trail, and McClesky.

We round out the month on March 25th with the Regional Elementary School Science Olympiad Tournament at Walton HS.
