Wakeland Band and Color Guard
April 23, 2017
Congratulations Band!
CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL STUDENTS
Congrats on all of your successful UIL performances! The Wakeland Band performed at the Region 24 Concert and Sightreading evaluation this past week and played beautifully! The Wind Symphony came back with sweepstakes on Tuesday after an outstanding performance. The Symphonic Band, Concert I and Concert II earned Excellent rating on stage with 3 beautiful performances.
Students you should be very proud of your progress so far this year!
Registration Day Clarification and Schedule
Registration day is now taking place in May to help with a few things:
1) An accuracy of program numbers for marching show design, instrument usage, booster budget flow, etc.
2) Most importantly to help families who chose the fee payment plan to have more months to pay out.
Registration day on May 13th is mandatory for all students and will be in conjunction with Hype day.
When you drop off your students for Hype day, they will join the staff to begin and the parents will go through registration. Students will not be fit for uniform parts until July summer band camp.
Parents-
Please make sure at least one of you is there that morning to get students registered and to begin your band fee payments.
Schedule for Registration and Hype Day:
Hype Day
8:00am - 12:30pm: Students at Hype Day
12:30pm - 1:00pm: Hype Day Preview Performance
1:00pm - 1:30pm: Parent Meeting
Registration
8:00am-12:00pm: Registration Open
Parents as you drop off your students please make your way over to the Choir Room for Registration. (If your child drives themselves, please plan on arriving between 10:00am-12:00pm to make sure you have enough time to register before the Hype Day performance.)
*Reminder, all students will be fit for uniforms and Drifit Nike wear in July during the first week of band camp. We will have a make-up registration day at the end of summer for families moving in.*
Information regarding fees and payment options will be coming out soon.

No Younger Sibling policy:
This event is a semi-formal dinner/banquet with the sole purpose of honoring and celebrating the achievements of our current Band and Guard students. The only exception to the "no younger sibling" policy is if the younger sibling is a current Wakeland HS student not enrolled in the Wakeland Band.
Middle School/Elementary School (or younger) siblings are not permitted to attend.
As well, any High School-aged sibling is expected to sit on the “Adult Side” of the Banquet room.
Non-Band Student/Adult RSVP Section:
The "non-Band HS Student or Adult" choice on the RSVP form refers to parents, alumni/older siblings, grandparents, or non-Band student dates.
Please note that any non-Band HS student date MUST go through an approval process with Mr.Smith & only those approved guest dates should be signed up to sit with the student.
Please complete the Guest RSVP form located at http://tinyurl.com/WHSBanquet1617
