The Hoot Owl
WEEK OF May 18th
NOTE FROM MRS. ELDRIDGE
As we are transitioning to the end of the year and summer break, the assignments/packets this week are one to two pages. They are a choice board the teachers created that mix academic and life skills together.
This week will be the last week of paper copies for assignments. Teachers will create choice boards that can be implemented repeatedly throughout the summer for the last week of school.
Kindergarten and fourth graders will be honored Friday, May 22 with a drive through parade. Specific directions will be sent via email to parents of kindergarten and fourth graders first part of next week. The parade will run from 9:30 - 11 a.m.
Computer drop off/library book return will be on Wednesday, May 20 from 2:30 - 5:30 or Thursday, May 21 from 10 - 1. This will take place on the bus ramp. We will ask that you drive up, give staff member your name and hand them the computer and the library books. If possible, we ask that the library books be placed in a gallon size baggie with your child's name written on the front of the baggie.
Student supplies will be ready for pick up on May 26 and 27 from 10 - 1. May 26 will be for alphabet A-M and May 27 will be N-Z. This will take place on the bus ramp. We will ask that you drive up, have a sign in your window with your child's name on it. We will send a staff member to grab a bag with your child's name on it and bring it to your car. If you cannot make these times, we will have a day in the summer for pick up. If you do not want your child's things returned, please notify your child's teacher of this wish.
We realize that this has not been the 9 weeks and ending of the 2019 - 2020 school year we would have all liked. We appreciate all the support you have given to the teachers and your child(ren) as we have been forced into distance learning.
Chocolate money is due! If you have chocolate money we need to get that turned in to PTO as soon as possible. We are asking that you pay using one of two methods:
A. Send it to PTO via paypal at firstname.lastname@example.org
B. Mail a check to ORE PTO, 19675 I-45 S, Conroe, TX 77385
We would like this money to be sent in quickly so that we can wrap up this fundraiser.
A NOTE FROM THE COUNSELOR
A NOTE FROM THE NURSE
Hello Oak Ridge Elementary families.
Hope everyone is doing well and staying safe. All parents that have checked in medications have been called and pick up times have been set up for those who have requested the return of their medication. I left messages for those that I did not reach. Please call or email the clinic so we can set up a time if you would like to pick up your medication. All medication that has not been picked up by Tuesday May 26th will be properly disposed of. Immunization letters will be mailed to those who are missing up to date vaccines. All parents please look over the attached Texas State vaccine requirements and follow up with your doctor so that your child can obtain the vaccines they need. All vaccines will need to be up to date prior to entering the building for the new school year 2020-2021. If your child has a Conscientious Exemption status please check your expiration date and provide an updated affidavit from the state. If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to call. Thank you for all your help with this. Together we will get through this. Together we will stay strong.
