2019 Summer Externships
The application for Summer Externships is open. Mrs. Vonnie Angelo will be the region coordinator this year. She has outlined the steps for the teachers who are interested in applying for the program.
Also, attached is the application.
- Teachers secure their location
- Select one of the following weeks to complete the externship – June 3-7, OR June 10-14. These are the only options
- Externship’s 16 hours must be completed within ONE of the weeks. The days do not have to be consecutive during the week, as long as there are 16 hours recorded
- Once the location is secured, the application must be completed and submitted to Vonnie Angelo at Yvonne.angelo@bcsdk12.net
- Do not use the email address on the application
- If you use the address on the application it will delay your approval and you could possibly miss the deadline for application
- Location is confirmed by Angelo
- CTAE Director reviews application for approval. Any questions about the application will be directed to the teacher
- Deadline for application to be submitted to CTAE Director, April 26, 2019 . It is the responsibility of the teacher/counselor to submit their application to Vonnie Angelo with enough time for it to be submitted to Dr. Washington for her approval
- Submit as soon as possible
- Approved applications are forwarded to CTAERN for approval. Deadline for applications submitted to CTAERN is May 1st or until all spots are taken
- Timing of the application receipt (first come, first served), along with region and past participation, will determine selection by CTAERN
- Past participants are eligible but first preference will be given to teachers and counselors who have not previously participated in this program
- Deliverables required from each participant at the end of the externship:
- Time log showing 16 hours worked
- Action Plan of follow up activity
- Reflection summary of experience
- Picture of participant working at the job site
i. Payment is dependent upon timely submission of all documents listed above
- Deadline for document submission to Vonnie Angelo is June 19, 2019
