BRAIN DEVELOPMENT 101: UNDERSTANDING THE IMPACT OF TRAUMA ON BRAIN DEVELOPMENT
NOVEMBER 6, 2018, 9:00-1:00
This four-hour workshop provides participants with foundational knowledge about how adversity and trauma can impact brain development. The workshop introduces brain architecture and early brain development in children and focuses on the impact of adverse experiences in child trauma on the brain. Topics and learning objectives include a) adversity & trauma and the impact on brain development; b) brain systems c) adverse childhood experiences and brain development d) resilience and brain development. This training is followed by Trauma 101 on December 3, 2018 from 9-1. On January 10, Trauma/Brain Development 201, 9-3, will conclude the Trauma Series.3rd Grade History Refresher 101: American Indians, European Exploration and British Colonization
4th Grade History Refresher 101: Civil War and Reconstruction
If possible, participants should bring a laptop.
It's Google Time!
This continuing education of the Google Apps or G-Suite Training will resume on November 6, 2018. This Level 1 fundamentals training is designed for the classroom teacher but is open for any educator to pursue. If you are looking to increase efficiency & save time, and engage in professional growth & leadership, then this course is for you. We will delve into the Google Training Center with hands-on experience that will strengthen your Google skills & knowledge!

TAPP Mentor Training (Required Two-Day Training)
The purposes of this Mentor Training is
= To provide an organizational vehicle for a mentoring initiative;
= To increase the knowledge base and general awareness of best practices in mentoring and induction;
= To promote and provide effective training for new teacher mentors;
= To establish mentoring of new teachers as the norm in schools; and
= To establish, through mentoring, the norms of collegiality, collaboration, and continuous professional development in schools

TKES Training
The Teacher Keys Effectiveness System (TKES) consists of multiple components, including the Teacher Assessment on Performance Standards (TAPS), Surveys of Instructional Practice, and measures of Student Growth. The overarching goal of TKES is to support the continuous growth and development of each teacher.
