Lusitania Sinks
14 miles off shore 1,959 people on board the RMS Lusitania. 159 were Americans. While World War 1 going on a voyage was very dangerous. Especially with the Germans swimming around in there new U-Boats, no one can detect them! Captain William Thomas Turner decided to turn slow down the Lusitania because of fog and that was a big mistake. Later on that day German U-boats spotted and attacked the Lusitania. The ship sunk. 1,198 of the 1,959 died, 761 survived.
