A1 Turtles Update
Week 6 - September 25th
We started our Apple unit this week. Ask the kids about Johnny Appleseed. We have done lots of fun math and writing activities about apples. Next Friday we will be making homemade applesauce in class. It will spell delicious in our class. Please continue to encourage your kids to practice their math facts. They can make flash cards, play games with numbers or enjoy a math app. I have included a new link to about our current math topic. Talker's Club will continue this week with 3 facts from a non-fiction book. It will really help your child if they practice before their presentation. I am really enjoying all of your adorable kids!
Each Monday a blue homework bag will be coming home. Inside will be their homework for the week. There is also a yellow reference sheet that they can use all year. Please have them bring their blue homework bag with their completed homework on Friday each week. It is very important to help your child learn how to be responsible with their homework and be on time.
Our Talker's Club starts the week of Sept. 21st. Each of the kids will have a folder in their blue homework bag that will come home on Monday. This folder has the Sept./Oct. Talker's Club topics in it as well as all of the Talker's Club paper they will need for the year. Please encourage your child to practice before they present. Their day is written on their folder. As I talked about on Back to School night, the kids need to be ready to present on their assigned day. If they are sick, they can present when they return. This is a great opportunity for them to gain confidence speaking in front of their peers.
