Asa C. Adams School Newsletter
April 2023
Dear Asa Families,
The third trimester is in full swing and warmer weather is sure to be on the horizon. I'm certain each of you are as equally excited as we are here at Asa for warmer weather, more time outside, and all the excitement that the month of April usually brings. We have many exciting school events happening here this month from the Spring Choral concert to the Drama Club production of 33 Little Pigs.
Additionally, spring can be a great time to start some Spring Cleanup activities both inside the home and around the yard. The National Association of Elementary School Principals has a few tips for you later in the newsletter on this topic. However, a little bit of fresh air and cleaning up around the house can help to get those winter germs out of the way. The month of April can also be a great time to participate in community clean up activities and can promote civic engagement or community service for your children and family. April vacation is just around the corner and April 22nd is Earth Day. This could be a great day to participate in these types of events. So, keep your eyes open for community clean up events on the horizon.
Finally, if you have suggestions or ideas on how we can make Asa an even better place for teaching and learning...please reach out. And as always, we are here if you need us.
Sincerely,
Ms. Wyman and Ms. West
*Please enjoy a few photos from this year's sledding party. Officer Patterson, our new School Resource Officer even joined in the fun.
Spring Choral Concert 4/12/2023 at 6pm!
Due to the capacity of the performing arts center, each family will have two tickets to attend the event. We have a small number of additional tickets that can be requested on a first come, first served basis. Priority will be given to families with multiple households. An update of available tickets will be sent out the week of 4/10. Please contact Ms. Wyman or Mrs. Moore about additional tickets.
Additionally, the event will be live streamed for any family members that would like to watch from the comfort of their own home.

Drama Club The Drama Club is working on a production of 33 Little Pigs. The performance will be held on 4/14, beginning at 6:30pm in the Orono Performing Arts Center. The doors will open at 6pm. Admission is free. Donations towards future performances are accepted. | Extra Clothes Spring or "Mud Season" has finally arrived. Please remember to send extra sets of clothing to school with your child. Slips and tumbles happen at recess and that makes for a long, cold, muddy afternoon. We are also accepting donations of clothing to keep on hand for unexpected moments like these. And, yes even our 5th graders need a change of clothes on occasion. We appreciate your help with extra clothing. | April Dates

The spring auction is in the planning process and will most likely be live on 32auctions.com later this month. The PTO has received lots of donations so far. Be on the lookout for dates soon.
Finally, the PTO is always welcoming new members. Please feel free to reach out if you are interested in joining. You can always find the PTO on Facebook or contact them via email asaadamspto@rsu26.org to find out about opportunities to support their great work in our school community.
