Welcoming John G. Zamora to ARUMC
Mr. Zamora, community leader, will present the history of Cinco De Mayo and how it was a significance to the American way of life on Sunday May 5, 2013 at 10:30AM Service. John Zamora, President of The Foundation For Housing Equity has been a long time community leader and advocate for over 50 years in San Jose. He was the President of The Mexican American Chamber of Commerce of San Jose in 1976 and Founding President of The United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. The youngest son of a migrant workers who came to California from Texas to become small business owners when they settled in San Jose in the 1940's. John Zamora was a United States and San Jose Bicentennial Commissioner 1976 and 1977. also was a San Jose Planning Commissioner. Recently, with the Foundation for Housing Equity John Zamora has saved The Cinco De Mayo Parade of San Jose three times and this Friday, May 3rd @ 11:30 am at Emma Prusch Farm Park that a committee will bring a peaceful foot parade and celebration called, Fiesta Del Pueblo will be the fourth consecutive year.
