Free Breakfast & Lunch
Students will receive free breakfast and lunch until the end of the school year. A Grab N Go breakfast and a hot nutritious lunch featuring student favorites will be offered daily. The DCSD school meal menus will be posted here.
Bus Transportation
Bus routes will remain the same this year. Please know there may be substitutes driving buses, so be on time for pick-up and drop-off times. PreK-2 grade students MUST have an adult present at the bus stop for drop-off.
Window to change to F2F
The DCSD window for parents to change from F2F to virtual or virtual to F2F is March 22-April 2nd. The change will begin Thursday, April 29th.
Class size-returning F2F
Students safety is our # 1 priority. DCSD developed a capacity model for schools to align with CDC and DPH for social distancing in the classroom. We are closely monitoring class sizes in order to implement social distancing safely when all Pre-K-5 students return March 29th. We are excited to have many of our students returning F2F, and will be working with our region 1 office and Principal Advisory Council (PAC) to determine a solution. If your child's class is impacted with a large number of students attending F2F, administrators will send notification with the solution to have all students in school and safely social distancing. We appreciate your continued support!

Desayuno y Almuerzo Gratis

Return to School (Repeat)
We are excited to welcome back our returning F2F students to school! DeKalb will reopen schools Tuesday, March 9th for Pre-kindergarten-2nd grade. The remaining grade levels 3-5 will start on Monday, March 15, 2021.
For the first three weeks, classes will be organized into two cohorts-Cohort A and Cohort B. Teachers and administrators have reviewed cohorts to align with siblings. Your child's cohort will be sent the week of March 1.
Wednesdays are still reserved for small group instruction, tutoring, appointments for student conferencing, parent conferencing, services, professional learning, collaborative planning and instructional planning.
Students who continue with distance/remote learning will not be assigned to a cohort. Distance/remote learning will continue as usual except for Wednesdays that are reserved for independent learning. If your child is not returning F2F, your routine will remain the same. Some lunch schedules have been adjusted to align with F2F. Teachers are teaching concurrently (F2F and Virtual). This is the first time teachers have ever taught concurrently. Please be patient for the first few weeks.

School Tour
We know many families would like to tour, but we have videos that our student school council created. Our school videos are located here!
Class Schedules
In January, the school schedule changed to 8:00am-2:00pm to align F2F and virtual students. Due to the lunch hour, we made another adjustment to individual class lunch times. The minor adjustment ensures F2F students have lunch and recess while virtual students have lunch and their break.
