Staff, Parents, Community Members and Stakeholders

Hello, Hexter teachers, Staff and Stakeholders!

As promised, I am ready to share with you the latest updates in selecting Hexter’s new principal. The campus staff met with me last Friday (Oct. 18th) and completed a survey to create the ideal principal profile. Thank you, teachers and staff for giving part of your time to complete this important task. Clear priorities came to light via this survey: Communication is a high priority; teachers are invested in advancing student achievement; SEL practices are valued; foundation grades PK-2 welcome support; clear expectations and building relationships with staff and community are deemed highly important. Below is the chart of the five overarching themes that staff survey revealed to be important with highest priority at the top.

I have conducted preliminary screenings on ten principal applicants and will be presenting top candidates to an Executive Director Panel on Wednesday, October 30th, to go deeper in the interview process to ensure the most highly qualified candidates move forward to the community panel level.

I want to thank Ms. McGill for the great support she has been providing our students, staff, parents and community. Her work is greatly appreciated! I'm also thankful that Assistant Principal Mr. Hutchison has been officially at work for one week already!

Have an awesome week and I will update you again by the end of next week!

Respectfully,

Clarita Rivera
