Message From Central Road School

Mrs. Joanna Shostachuk, School Principal

A Note from Mrs. Shostachuk 10/16/2022

Dear Central Road Families:

This week was a short one! Many of our 6th graders participated in the mile run and did a wonderful job of showing sportsmanship, dedication, and endurance while having fun. Way to go! We appreciate you taking the time to read and review our weekly communication. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out for support and/or clarification. Please enjoy the weekend with family and friends. We will see our students back at school on Monday, October 17th. We look forward to an amazing month of October!

Kindly,

Joanna Shostachuk

Illustrative Math Parent Resources

This year, we fully adopted Illustrative Mathematics as our district curricular resource for math. Illustrative Math is a problem-based core curriculum designed to address content and practice standards to foster learning for all. Students learn by doing math, solving problems in mathematical and real-world contexts, and constructing arguments using precise language. You can find a letter for each grade-level and unit to help support you in understanding the progression of learning your child will be engaging in along with questions and support at home.

Drop Off and Pick Up Table

If you are dropping off items such as forgotten books, lunches, jackets, etc., please leave them on the table in the foyer with your students name on it. Please include your chid's first and last name. Including the teacher's name and grade level is helpful too. If you are picking up assignments for your child because he/she has been out sick that too should be located on our table in the foyer. Thank your for your cooperation.

Change in Weather

Fall is officially here and so are the cooler temperatures. We will continue to go outside for recess each day for about 40 minutes. Fresh air and physical activity is important and we all enjoy our time outside. Please send your child to school with additional layers-coat, hat, and/or gloves as needed. Thank you!

Picture Re-Take Day

Our Picture Re-Take Day is scheduled for October 19th in the morning only. If you're satisfied with your child's picture, no further action is required. If you purchased and were unhappy with your Picture Package, please send your Picture Package to school with your student on Retake Day. Your Retake Picture Package will be produced and shipped to our school four weeks after Retake Day. Please note, if your child is photographed on the original and Retake Picture Days, the Retake picture will replace the original picture in certain products, like the yearbook.

Students who were absent for Picture Day should come to school prepared to have their picture taken in the morning. If you have not preordered, please use the Retake Order Code 70174NF to place your order at https://inter-state.com/Order. To see your Order History, check your Inter-State Account. Find answers to Retake Day questions here.
