Face Mask Protocol Changing

Parents and guardians—at their sole discretion—can opt their children out of the face covering requirement without any documentation. They only need to complete the online opt-out form in FOCUS, the district’s online student information system. If students DO NOT wear a mask and they DO NOT have an op-out-form in FOCUS, they will receive 2.01 Failure to Adhere to Safety Considerations.

For more information click here.

Dress Code Reminders

Since the weather has changed to cooler weather, we are seeing students wearing pajamas. Please remind students that pajamas are NOT ALLOWED unless it is a special day authorized in school such as theme school day. Students will receive a referral for dress code violation if they wear pajamas to school.

Also, students are allowed to wear sweatshirts and jackets with hoodies, but the hoodie is NOT allowed to be worn over their head due to safety concerns and DCPS Dress Code Policy. Please check your child's attire before they leave school.

For more information on the DCPS Dress code Policy, please click here.

New Book Club Meeting

Do you have an avid reader at home? We are starting a new book club at Hawk Nation on November 17th at 8:30 am. If your child is interested, please have them go to Ms. Ware in the media center for an activity pass.
