Why New Vision?
Over the next few weeks we want to highlight students, families, and staff that answer the question Why New Vision on our social media outlets. Please take a few minutes to email, video, draw, or whatever other creative outlets you can think of to share why you choose New Vision and why you love New Vision.
Please email Mrs. Baker at mbaker@newvisioncharterschool.org with questions or submissions. We can't wait to see what you share!

K-3 Campus
Wow! What an exciting week at the K-3 Campus! It has been so fun to have all students back in person. Teachers have spent time teaching expectations and routines to ensure a successful 2nd semester.
Each grade level is doing incredible things and I am so excited to share the highlight reel with you!
Kindergarten - THEY ARE READING! I am blown away that our youngest learners are reading.
1st Grade - Our 1st graders are learning about the Incan Culture. They had Incan races to deliver the important message to the Emperor.
2nd Grade - 2nd Grade is learning the difference between nouns and verbs and identifying proper and common nouns. There was also some awesome site word baseball this week.
3rd Grade - 3rd grade is solving some very complex math story problems. They are solving multiple step problems and digging in deep to justify their answers.
Today we celebrated our 2nd quarter Golden Feather Earners! What a great celebration.
Please remember a little extra dose of patience and grace. Driveline will take longer both in the am and in the pm due to the increase in students. If you can walk we highly encourage it.
Please make sure that you are being alert and present during driveline. This includes being off your cell phones and adhering to the speed limits and guidelines.
Thank you for your patience and support as we continue to navigate this year. We are so happy and fortunate that you have chosen New Vision Charter School to partner with you as you raise your children.
With extreme gratitude,
Mary Baker

Happy Friday Nighthawks!
This week has been full of students earning PBIS rewards! Everything from Baby Yoda stickers to slime parties, our students are making the most of the rewards that they have earned. This year we are using a digital rewards system PBISRewards.com to tabulate crests and student rewards. As of this morning we have awarded over 94,000 crests to students K-8! That is a lot of positive behavior recognition!! If you have not checked it out yet, I encourage you to do so. Student log in information can be provided by your student's homeroom teacher. MLK DAY
As we move into this holiday weekend I encourage all families to discuss Martin Luther King Jr. Day with their student(s). MLK Day is one of the only federal holidays designated as a national day of service to encourage all Americans to volunteer to improve their communities. Dr. King believed in the power of people ingniting change within their communities. I encourage families to have conversations about how we can inspire change within our school, local, and global communities. If your family wants to share how you volunteered your time this weekend please send me an email: mhejl@nvcs.school so I can celebrate with students when we return next week!
Return to Learn Update
I have have recieved many questions regarding our 6-8 return to full time in person learning. While we do not have an exact date at this time for return to full time in person learning, please know that this opton is on the horizon. We are watching the surrounding school districts and have been in direct contact with LCHD to determine what we need to do to make this possible in the near future. All of our teachers and staff want to see their students come back full time, we just need to make sure we have the capacity to do so in the safest way possible for both students and parents. As in the past communications, we will let parents know of our plans well before they are put into action so that we can gather feedback and allow you time to plan for any changes that take place.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend,
Marian Hejl
