A note from Mrs. Tesch...
We are enjoying a "normal" week here at Bryant and are hopeful that your lives have returned to as much normalcy as possible after the stressful and scary events related to the Husky Refinery explosions and fires last week. I would like to thank all families and relatives that arrived to pick their children up for being respectful of our process both at school and once we arrived at Amsoil. I know that the traffic was stressful, but everyone staying calm truly helped us reunify children as safely and quickly as possible. I am so very thankful for the staff at Bryant and the way that they reacted to keep all children safe as we quickly evacuated. We have reflected as a building and will also be meeting as a district and with the community representatives to update our crisis plans with what we learned in this situation. I appreciate the messages that have been shared and will continue to pass them along to staff.
Please make sure that your contact information is up to date in our system, including phone numbers and email addresses. If you would like to see what is currently in the system, you can call and request a copy or simply ask Anne Schultz, our secretary to update any information over the phone or via email. Her contact information is (715) 394-8785 or anne.schultz@superior.k12.wi.us.

Lost and Found
If your child is missing any outdoor gear or clothing, please come take a look in our lost and found. It is located right by the playground door entrance for now. We will have all lost and found on a table on concert day, please take the time to look through it if you think your child is missing something as we will be getting rid of it all shortly after that.
This is a good reminder to label your kids clothing,
so we can get it back to the right child.

District Safety Notes:
There has been a lot of discussion about school safety the past few weeks. As I’ve been listening there are some things that are worth highlighting.
Make sure your contact information is up to date with your school. All automated messages are sent to the numbers and email address you provide so it is crucial that information is updated.
Email anne.schultz@superior.k12.wi.us for any contact changes at Bryant for your child(ren). If there is an incident at a school wait to hear from the school/district before coming to the school. At any incident getting the students reunited with their families in a safe and timely way is a priority and we need to keep access to the school clear. Families will be contacted at the number they have on file with the school about where and how to pick up their students.
Talk to your student about safety plans. Make time to talk about fire safety at home, safety going to and from school, what to do if separated from family at the mall, what to do if someone is scaring or threatening them, etc. Being safe is not just being safe at school but being safe at home, at the store, in the park, anywhere.
If you have a safety concern that could impact the school tell the school. You as parents know what the normal routine is around the school. If you see something that doesn’t fit let someone know. If you have an area of concern that could be improved talk to the school.
We all have responsibility in keeping the schools safe. If you have any concerns, ideas, or thoughts on improving the safety of the school feel free to contact me or any of the liaison officers. I can be reached at michael.kendall@superior.k12.wi.us.
Thank you,
Officer Kendall
