Can't Hide Our Wildcat Pride
As we enter the month of November there is so much for us to be grateful for. This is one of the best times of the year. The temperature is finally where it is cold in the morning and beautiful during the day and this is the time where we see the most student growth. For our students, this is the time of the year where they have learned the routines and are primed for learning.
We have much to be grateful for here at Glanton-Hinsdman. We have a wonderful caring staff from our custodians, our paraprofessionals, our office staff, to all of our teachers. I am so grateful every day for the opportunity to work with all of them and I know your children are in good hands with them. We have supportive parents and community, with a giving and engaged PTO at the forefront, to which we all say thank you for all that you do to make Glanton-Hindsman so successful. Finally, we have incredible students, who challenge themselves every day to learn and be engaged as well as challenging us to become better people. They are why we are here every day!
This year, as we still face ongoing challenges from the pandemic, we will not be able to host our annual Thanksgiving lunches due to supply issues. We hope as things continue to develop we will return to normal operations in the future.
Please continue to reach out to us if you have any needs during this holiday season. Mr. Huckeba, our school counselor, has organized a canned food drive and has resources available to families in need.
Thanksgiving Food Drive Ends November 5th
Newest Members of the GHES Family
Please take a moment to view our FY22 Parent and Family Engagement Plan. This plan describes the different ways that Glanton-Hindsman Elementary will support family engagement. It also describes how parents can help plan and participate in activities and events to promote student learning at school and at home.
Way to go Wildcats!
Our Wildcats are doing a great job earning tokens and tickets in the cafeteria for good behavior choices. Individual students can earn tokens and cash them in for ice cream. Classes are working together to earn tickets. The class in each grade level earning the most tickets during the week, will get ice pops on Friday!
Let's Go Get It!
Live Your Dream!
Congratulations to our students who were recognized in October. We celebrated students with 90% positive Dojo behavior, students who displayed our character word of the month, and those who earned the Principal's Award! Way to go Wildcats! We also kept track of the total number of words our students read in the month of August and rewarded the top class in each grade level with ice cream. Students can contribute to their class word count by reading and passing AR quizzes.
