Covid Cases at LHS update
Leicester High School was recently notified that we have had a total of one (1) school community member who has recently tested positive for COVID-19.
The school nurse and administration completed contact tracing and identified people who were in close contact with the positive case. The close contacts have been notified and those
individuals have been told to quarantine per protocol.
All DPH guidelines are being followed and the health and safety of all students and staff continue to be our first priority. The Leicester Public Schools continues to be diligent with the cleaning of all buildings and sanitizing high traffic areas throughout the school day.
If you have any questions, please contact our school nurse or me.
Thank you,
Thanks,
Tracey Kenny

Book Drive Extended- NHS Service Project
Children’s Story Book Drive
Where to drop off: the LHS lobby
Times:8:00-1:00
Please consider donating a children's storybook. By donating a book, you will provide a student with new reading skills that they can improve on every day. All grade-level appropriate books will be accepted, but we are especially seeking books for 3rd and 4th-grade reading levels, whether they be comic books, or books on current events (black history, politics, etc). All donations will be provided to the Worcester Technical High School’s Special Education Life Skills Program. This program in particular works to help kids just like you with everyday life skills that they struggle with and will need later on in life.
**If you have any questions, you can contact the students coordinating this program at caseymacaruso2022@lpsma.net and vditaranto2022@lpsma.net.

New website helps families navigate the mental health system in Massachusetts
COVID-19 is putting incredible pressure on families. Many families are worried about their child’s mental health, but they aren’t sure where to turn or how to get started. HandholdMA.org, a new family-friendly website, can help. The website, created by a team of mental health and child development experts in partnership with parents who have “been there,” was designed for parents of school-aged children in Massachusetts. Handhold has three main sections:
Should I worry? Helps parents explore if their kid is just being a kid, or if their behavior is something to worry about. Parents can learn about signs to look for and get suggestions on what to do next.
What can I do? Tips, tools, and strategies that have worked for other families, sorted by topic, and picked by Handhold. These are things parents can learn about or do from home.
Who can help? Carefully selected community organizations and government resources to help families find the right mental health services.
