Competition
Competition is when two of the same or different animals or plants fight to get what they both want. Most of the time it results in death. Usually the animals compete for food, a mate, water, and space. The animal that wins is the one that benefits. The plants compete for light, water, space, and mineral salts.

The wolves are fighting for food or space or water
tiger versus tiger
The tigers are fighting for space or food.
Territory
Territory is animals defend animals that contain a nest, den, or mating site. They defend their territory to get food for their families. It rarely creates a fight. But fish fight to the death. Usually animals urinate to mark their territory.
