What's Happening This Week
Math Workshop: We will continue to work on our Place Value Unit. We will focusing on how to round 2-digit and 3-digit numbers to the nearest 10 and 100 using a number line.
Reader's Workshop: This week we will be discussing character traits (inside vs. outside). We will also discuss how a character's actions affect the outcome of a story. We will continue to work on improving our reader responses on our independent reading books.
Writer's Workshop: We are discussing personal narratives. We have identified a small moment from our life to write about. We be reading Saturdays and Teacakes for our mentor text to discuss author's craft.
Word Study: We will continue to practice our word work activities using self-selected words from our high frequency word list.
Social Studies: We will begin our Social Studies Unit on Map Skills. We will discuss the states and lakes that make up the Midwest Region. We will discuss the different hemispheres.
