What happens in the #CGSTAR workshop?

#CGSTARs provide comprehensive & continual laptop support for #CGStudents.

We want all #CGLaptops to perform optimally at all times. We are committed to a laptop tune-up every six months.

What happens at a #CGLaptop tune-up?

June 2015 - 10 point inspection

  1. Physical Inspection of each laptop by a certified #CGSTAR.
  2. Repairs of broken keys, cracked screens, malfunctioning mousepads.
  3. Replacement of bad hardware (wireless cards, hard drives, system boards).
  4. Installation of Lenovo issued driver updates.
  5. Reimaging of the CGHS laptop with the newest CG software licenses.
  6. Cleaning of each laptop.
  7. Testing of the new student password for "all things Gibbons".
  8. CG wireless authentication configuration.
  9. Installation of the "Follow-You" student printer.
  10. #CGSTAR inspection sticker and re-printing of missing/damaged labels.

January 2015 - 5 point inspection

  1. Physical Inspection of each laptop by a certified #CGSTAR.
  2. Repairs of broken keys, cracked screens, malfunctioning mousepads.
  3. Replacement of bad hardware (wireless cards, hard drives, system boards).
  4. Installation of Lenovo issued driver updates & application of new asset tag.
  5. Installation of CG Software Updates & Microsoft Windows updates.

The STARs are the Student Technical Assistance Resource team that provides technical and instructional technology support for CGHS students, faculty and staff.
