Butterfly School News for March!!
Spring break is here and what happened to the winter that wasn't?!
Nice weather is a blessing especially when little ones can play outside and burn off excess energy. One of the many things I enjoy at butterfly School is seeing our students and their families gather after school on our playground! What a wonderful way to make memories that will last a lifetime. As I look back a LONG time ago, I can still describe the two parks my dad and I would walk to after dinner. I remember like it was yesterday the swings and monkey bars and the green and yellow merry-go-round and the wooden teeter totter I played on. (It's too bad that 3 of the 4 are no longer acceptable equipment in a school playground setting). Just a gentle security reminder; once you sign your child out of school and leave the building, the doors must remain locked and we can not let you reenter. This is a building security requirement needed because other groups and organizations also use the property. If you plan to remain on the property and use the play ground, plan ahead and take your child to the bathroom before you leave the building. Security is everyone’s responsibility, your cooperation is appreciated.
February pre-enrollment was a great success, thanks to all who participated! I am extremely excited so many of our families will be returning in the fall!
We have now officially transitioned to the open enrollment phase with a few classes already full! We still have several openings in our Toddlers class!
Be sure and take note of the up coming events below!
Have a blessed and safe break this week! We'll see you on Tuesday, March 21st

Pony Tail Club
So now it was my turn to cut 12 inches of hair! For the past nine years I've had the opportunity to sponsor the Pony Tail Club at Mockingbird Elementary School. I was invited back this year to help celebrate the 10th annual Pony Tail Club cut for Pink Heart Funds. 24 pony tails were collected including mine! Over the last 10 years, hundreds of pony tails have been donated! I am glad the tradition continues at Mockingbird and i am excited to start the tradition here at Butterfly School!
Pink Heart Funds is a way to help children with hair loss during chemotherapy. Children are able to receive a wig, free of charge, if their family does not have the means to purchase one. You can find out more at the web site www.Pinkheartfunds.org. Pink Heart Funds is not associated with a similar organization; ‘ Locks of Love’. If you have any questions I am happy to visit with you. Chapel Chat -Ms. Debby
Let your light shine so others can see your good works. Matthew 5:16
In chapel this month, we're letting our light shine. We'll learn about the boy who shared his lunch, Jesus' teachings from a mountainside, and Zacchaeus, who learned to be fair to other people after he met Jesus. Our threes and pre-k classes are doing good things by making lunches for homeless people. Our teachers will help us hand these out to people in need.
Spanish! -Ms.Martha
¡Hola! This month we will be learning about clothes (ropa), this is fun vocabulary that the kids get to use everyday at home and school. We will also start talking about weather. It´s been lots of fun learning all the songs that help us practice action words and opposites.
