THINKING OF ADDING A FENCE TO YOUR BACK YARD? HERE'S WHAT YOU NEED TO DO FIRST:
Before you start digging the first post hole, there is a process in place to follow to obtain approval to add a fence to your back yard.
.
The process starts with a completed Architecture Review Application which you can obtain on HOAButler (every homeowner should have an account setup) or by emailing AtlantasouthARC@sentrymgt.com and asking them to send you one. For your convenience the form is attached to this Newsletter and a depiction of it is shown below.
.When you complete the ARC form and email it to Sentry Management, here are the most important items to make sure you include:
- a sketch or diagram of your lot showing the placement of your house on the lot and then the placement of the fence in relation to the house and lot lines; it can be a very basic sketch; include dimensions for the fence (i.e. distance from the house to the side lot lines, etc.).
- include a photo of the same type fence you are planning to have built; make sure the photo is an accurate depiction of the fence; if there is an "inside" view or an "outside" view, be sure to specify them on the application.
- include the materials to be used in the fence (i.e. pine, cedar, metal, etc.) and any colors if appropriate
- include the height of the fence and if there will be gates, etc.
- be as specific as possible about the fence in your request - the more details the better!
.
Submit the entire package to Sentry Management at AtlantasouthARC@sentrymgt.com.
.
Once Sentry has your request package, they will review it and then send it to the Covington Place ARC for a thorough review and approval process. The group works quickly so there will not be much delay before getting your reply back regarding your request.

CALLING ALL RESIDENTS INTERESTED IN BECOMING A CANDIDATE FOR BOARD OF DIRECTORS:
As the New Year in Covington Place begins we must turn our attention to the business of managing our community HOA and electing our Board of Directors. This year Claudia Callaway, Keith Campbell and Lynn Atkinson have completed their two-year terms opening three seats on the Board of Directors. These seats will be filled with an election on February 16, 2016.
.
Claudia, Keith and Lynn will be greatly missed. They have worked hard on their assignments and have served their neighbors well. But with change comes opportunity. New faces on the Board of Directors will bring energy, enthusiasm and a fresh perspective. We ask that capable, practical, common sense people offer themselves for election to the Board of Directors.
.
Experience in business, accounting, real estate, legal affairs and local government would be an asset, but is not mandatory. We are looking for anyone who has a genuine interest in our community to come and join the Board as we work to preserve the quality of life here in Covington Place. If you are looking for interesting community service or if you would like to improve the way our community operates we ask that you consider running for election to the Board of Directors.
.
You can submit your name by sending an email to perrifuto@charter.net Include your name, address and your phone number, a brief description of your qualifications, and a recent headshot (photo in JPEG format). A member of the Board of Directors will contact you to confirm your nomination.
