Museum Exhibit and Guest Speaker
FEBRUARY 8th
The second grade GT class shared their amazing museum exhibits about famous people who helped shape America on Wednesday, February 8th. The museum exhibits were a definite display of our students' dedication to quality work. The second grade GT students would like to thank all of the visitors that came to see their museum exhibits. They had a great time sharing their efforts, and they truly appreciated everyone's support.
FEBRUART 17
GT had a guest presenter, Dionne Hiebert, on Friday, February 17th. Dionne Hiebert is an amazing photographer from Lago Vista. She shared many tips of her trade with the GT students. She focused on effectively framing subjects. Students also enjoyed learning about complimentary colors and leading lines. The GT students had a great time going outside and experimenting with their new photography skills; they took some awesome pictures! Many thanks to Mrs. Hiebert for providing such a fantastic learning experience for our GT students!
Digital Learning Day
Mrs. Kelley's class then spent the actual day of digital learning to explain their work and present a poster to Mr. Holt and the other third grade teachers.
This was an amazing project and day that we hope to extend to the entire 3rd grade next year.
Literacy Night - March 7th
Don't forget to stop by the Community Room from 5:30-6:30 for our PTO meeting before heading to cafeteria for Literacy Night.

Dress Code Reminders
http://www.lagovistaisd.net/users/0001/student/LVISD%20Standards%20of%20Attire.pdf
It's always a good idea to leave the sandals, flip flops and dress shoes at home, as our students have PE and/or recess everyday. Tennis shoes are a much safer shoe option for our LVES Vikings, especially on PE days.
LVISD March Character Trait - Responsibility
- Do what you are supposed to do
- Plan ahead
- Persevere: keep on trying
- Always do your best
- Use self-control
- Be self-disciplined
- Think before you act - consider the consequences
- Be accountable for your words, actions and attitudes
- Set a good example for others
Mrs. Sexton will be teaching students about Responsibility in this month's guidance lessons.
Counselor's Corner
In our guidance classes this month, students are learning about Fairness. We are discussing the important concepts of treating all people with honesty and respect, cooperating with one another, embracing the uniqueness and value of everyone, and making sure others are not treated badly. We are also learning about some significant people in history who have fought for justice and fairness for others, such as Martin Luther King, Jr., Rosa Parks, Abraham Lincoln, and Susan B. Anthony.
At home, you can remind your child that showing justice and fairness makes our home, school, community, and world a better place for all people!
