Growing with STEM in 4th Grade

November 30th- December 4th

Welcome Back!

I hope everyone had a happy and safe thanksgiving break! As we all know, it was not nearly long enough, but we are happy to be back with our scholars to finish off the semester with a bang! In the short three weeks left (can you believe there are only 15 more days of school before Christmas break!) there is a lot going on. Make sure you are up to date on all that is going on!

Food Drive!

This is STILL HAPPENING!

Cannon Elementary is sponsoring a food drive to benefit local Cannon families for the upcoming

holidays! We encourage you to bring in non-perishable items from the suggested list provided below. Each grade level will be responsible for certain food items. We will collect the food items from November 3rd - December 16th.

4th GRADE: Canned Chicken; Canned Vegetables; Stuffing Mix

Parade of Lights is Thursday, 12/3

Our awesome Dad's Club & PTA have been working throughout the holiday break on the Cannon float that will proudly represent our school in the Grapevine Parade of Lights on Thursday! Please make plans to attend this awesome family event to participate in all of the festivities! This year, in addition to the awards given by the parade judges, there is a new People's Choice Award. Please cast your vote for Cannon through Twitter on 12/3, between 7:00 pm & midnightthrough Twitter! Tweet, using #GVParadeVoteCannon to show your support of our amazing school!

Smile! Picture make up day!

Did your child miss our Picture Day earlier this year? This week, on Thursday, 12/3, our school photographers will be at school to make-up or retake student pictures. These will be used in our school yearbook, so be sure to send your children to school with their best smile if they need a picture taken!

Homework and iPads

Homework: This week we will be repeating the grammar homework from the week before Thanksgiving. If your scholar has already completed this, they get a break this week!

Math homework will go home on Monday as usual.

iPads: Please be sure to have your scholars power down and charge their iPads daily. Also, please have your scholar keep a pair of headphones or earbuds with them in their backpacks. There are a number of activities on their iPads such as spelling tests where earbuds or headphones are needed. If a scholar comes to school without their iPads charged or without their headphones they may not be able to participate in our daily activities. We that you in advance and appreciate your help in ensuring that your scholars are prepared for school.
