We have been busy reading and learning technology in the Library.
Hilltop hosted 278 Library Classes and circulated 10,841 Library Items!
Argyle Intermediate hosted 56 Library Classes and circulated 2,034 Library Items!
"Musical Books"
Pre-K and Kindergarten students enjoyed playing "Musical Books", similar to Musical Chairs. When the music stopped, students read Award-Winning Texas 2X2 Picture Books. When the music started, they moved to another chair to read a different 2X2 book. Best of all, no one lost their chair!
Texas Library Association Annual Conference
I had the privilege of attending the Texas Library Association Annual Conference in Houston this year, thanks to Hilltop and Argyle Intermediate PTA, who was so gracious to provide funding. LeVar Burton, famous actor of the Roots television series and Host of Reading Rainbow, spoke about the power of reading and the freedom that it brings. This was the best conference I have ever attended for Librarians, and I was able to attend 15 different professional development sessions and earn 16 hours of Professional Development.
MakerSpaces!
Our students enjoyed MakerSpaces in the Library once a month. Kids worked together to create, build, and solve problems with different MakerSpace items.
Bluebonnet Breakfast!
Hilltop and Argyle Intermediate students enjoyed coming together for the Bluebonnet Breakfast and discussing the award-winning Bluebonnet Titles they had read this year. In order to participate, students were required to read 10 Bluebonnet titles from this year's list.
