Coal-solar power

Coal

  1. Coal is formed from the remains of tree, ferns and other plants that lives 300 to 400 million years ago. The burning of Fossil Fuels have increased the concentration of carbon dioxide, a greenhouse gas in the atmosphere, and have very likely caused recent global warming. The process of forming Fossil Fuels is so slow (millions of years) that even though it happens naturally, fossil fuels are not a renewable energy source. Once all the available deposits have been used, it will not be replaced.Coal, the first fossil fuel exploited by humans for energy on a large scale, is a carbonaceous rock formed from buried plants in ancient forests or swamps.

Solar Power

Solar Power is power obtained by harnessing the energy of the sun's rays. Something that is bad about using solar power panels is that its to expensive.Solar Power conversion of sun light electricity, either directly using photovoltaics (PV),or indirectly using concentrated solar power (CSP).

Historical Breakthrough, Career, or Scientist who has contributed to this area I'm covering.

Greeks and Romans are people that contributed in using Coal. About 3000 BC right after Britain used coal the ancient Greeks also discovered the benefits of coal, and they used it mainly for metalworking. After the Romans invaded Britain in the 1st century, they exploited the main coal fields in Britain, and they began trading coal.

Fun Facts

  1. Did you know that steam coal provides 30% of the worlds electronics and needs.
  2. Solar Power is produced by collecting sunlight and converting it into electricity.
