Supporting 21st Century Classrooms in La Canada
Thanks to our awesome tech staff! (and a plea for device insurance)
We're starting to see some damaged devices come in. Please remind your students that the insurance policy offers great peace of mind, and that they should have coverage on their devices. Our tech staff will do their best to get students back online, but some issues need expensive repairs, so we'd like all students to have coverage. If parents ask you about insurance, please have them visit: https://my.worthavegroup.com/Lcusdca
Classroom Spotlight: Megan McCreary
This week, I want to give a shoutout to Megan McCreary, 7th grade history teacher. She has a novel and effective strategy to help give her students a heads-up as class starts. Students know to look to the board for instructions when they enter class, but Ms McCreary adds another visual cue-check out her strategy below.
Green: Open Chromebooks Immediately
Yellow: Be patient--tech comes later.
Red: We're having a tech-free lesson today

PLNs: Personal Learning Networks
This is a golden age for teachers to share lessons, classroom management strategies, tips, tricks, and best practices. A great way to enhance our professional practice is to follow the great minds of the education field on Twitter. You don't have to tweet (but share if you have something good!), and you don't have to be a Twitter junkie. Just drop in occasionally to see what people are talking about. Here are some people to follow as you build your personal learning network.
