Tricky Little Leprechauns!

National Gallery

We had a short but busy week in kindergarten! Our American Symbols unit concluded this week with our final project. Each student chose their favorite national symbol, wrote about why it is important, and created an original art piece showcasing the symbol. The three kindergarten classes combined together to form our "National Gallery" where each student was able to show their artwork, as well as learn more about the pieces created by their peers.

STEM: The Kite Challenge

Our Kite STEM challenge continued this week. The students were placed into groups and were tasked to collaborate and come up with a design for their kite. After deciding on the shape and which materials to use, each student drew a sketch of their kite. Next, they gathered materials and started building. It is so interesting to see how kindergartners works together to troubleshoot problems and find solutions to make their kites lightweight and strong! Next week the students will have the opportunity to fly their group's kite and we will record the results.
