Presale flyers went home last week. Bracelets are $2 less expensive if you buy as presale than at the door. Please return flyers to your classroom teacher by April 16th. Bracelets will be distributed the week of Carnival. Decorations will start to go up this week. Keep an eye out for the posters. Kid raffle donations and cake walk donation pledges are still being collected. 10-12 adult volunteers are still needed for one hour shifts at the Carnival to help with bracelet sales and concession sales. If you have an hour of time to donate, please contact AnnMarie Marchese at

Attention MCES Parents!

The Spring Carnival 2014 planning is well underway! The Kid’s raffle will be at the Carnival again. PTA Positions for 2014-2015:

The Nominating Committee is still searching for a parent to serve as Co-President for the 2014-2015 school year. This is a great opportunity for a parent to get involved, yet be guided by a experienced co-President. PLease consider volunteering for this position. The PTA is also looking for academic minded parents to coordinate the Reflections Art Contest, Science Olympics and Spelling Bee. Without dedicated volunteers, these events will not be able to be held. Two teacher representatives are also needed. Please contact the AnnMarie or Kerri on the Nominating Committee at or

Garden Club:

Middle Creek Families,

We are so excited about our new garden! We want to keep it looking great, as well as our grounds.

Thank you to all who volunteered for our Garden & Grounds Day. We didn't quite have enough mulch to finish the job,

so we are having another delivery this week.

Please take a moment to check out our new Garden Club Sign-Up Genius.

We will continue to add days & tasks to our Garden Club schedule.

Please help us out for an hour!

Kindergarten Orientation: Volunteers Needed

Do you remember how you were feeling when your first child was entering kindergarten? Well now is a chance to lend a hand to those moms that are preparing to be in those same shoes! The MCES Kindergarten team and school Administration will be holding its parent/child orientation on Thursday, April 24th from 1-2pm in the Media Ctr. The team needs 10-20 volunteers to help them in the gym, to welcome the children and assist in organized fun and games, while their parents can focus on the informational meeting in the Media Ctr. Please consider helping us out to make this a special day to remember for these parents and kids, and giving them all a warm welcome from the MCES family! See the SignUp Genius link below to sign up to volunteer or email: THANK YOU!!!

EOG Proctors Needed:

Ms. Jacobs is looking for some parent volunteers to help with the EOG's.

Note from Art Teacher:

I am in need of some yarn (lots!) and some more egg cartons.

Thanks so much! Ms. Howell

The counselor for Holly Ridge Middle will be coming on April 8 at 12:00 to talk with the students about middle school. Track 4 students will be tracked out during this visit, and this will be the only visit. Tracked out students are welcome to come, but the visit is for STUDENTS ONLY. You may drop your children off, and Mrs. Fillard will supervise any track 4 students from 12-12:45.

* This is for Holly Ridge transfers only. West Lake Middle session TBA.

Please see Mrs. Fillard's teacher site for great information:

* Please trim the box tops for submission by cutting along the dotted line. Also expired Box Tops can not be submitted.

With our points from the Labels for Education, PTA President Dawn Matta delivered supplies and outdoor/indoor recess items to each teacher. Items included playground balls, sidewalk chalk and games.
