The ACTS Group
Part 3 of a 5 Part Series
ACTS: Uniting Believers in Compassionate Service
We continue a special December series on ACTS Group progress. This week, we highlight our strategy for Service. The basis of this strategic organization was an inheritance from the 2012 Luis Palau Sacramento Festival. Since then, it has grown into a powerhouse connecting over 170 churches and over 40 non-profits for collaborative service in the region. Megan McCleary has been working two years on this and her summary below will fill you with perspective and hope!

Give a Ten Update
Because you have known about, believed in, prayed for and/or financially supported and/or prayed for the ACTS Group, we are calling upon you to “Give Ten” in December. Simply said, if everyone who has benefited from ACTS Group simply gave $10, it would be a game changer to close the year. We are praying for at least 1000 of our 3000 person community to participate. We have had 24 responses.
Help us get there in these ways:
1. Please click here to donate $10 or more to ACTS Group today. This link is simple and goes through our Leadership website Convergence.World. OR, you can click here to set up monthly giving or give 10x10 ($100) or 10 "cubed" ($1000) on our main online giving platform.
2. Please forward this newsletter to 10 people inviting them to sign up for the newsletter or link to one of our online communities through Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.
Strategy Highlight - Service
In Christmas’ past, Serve United was called Serve Sacramento and our efforts to increase regional service included championing a Season of Service each Spring for the past 3 years. These service focused seasons resulted in over 150 churches completing over 300 projects and mobilizing over 7,000 volunteers to serve in 25 communities in the Sacramento region. Our website property and Social Media platforms have connected individuals with participating organizations and upcoming service opportunities organized by causes and communities on our online regional calendar.
This Christmas, we are excited to share that we have been working hard on systems and structures that will greatly increase church school partnership in the region through an initiative called Every School Partnership. We are in the middle of launching this initiative and are seeing churches join this effort to serve their communities through the local school. Our name has been re-branded to Serve United to include friends in communities all throughout the region. We have gained a wealth of resources from regional service leader videos from ACTS Group’s leadership strategy Convergence.World to educate and equip servants for effective service in our region.
In Christmas future (2016), we look forward to the region’s 5th Season of Service which will include a Serve Our Schools service week focus from April 16th – 23rd. We want to help identify and establish new church partnerships with the goal of 100 church partnerships by the end of the 2016 school year. We want to see the eight “Cause Areas” of Family, Marriage, Employment, Education, Housing, Wellness, Sexual Integrity and Neighbors to have active task forces working towards solutions to ills in these areas.
It is an exciting upcoming season for Serve United and we would love to have you stay connected with us! To learn more about our initiatives, view our online service calendar and see past stories of service, visit our website at www.serveunited.us. Update on Giving Goal for December
We have now had 22 people step up in the Give a Ten campaign that is running until the end of this month. We had two larger commitments in the 10 “cubed” ($1000) and a gift of appreciated stock that helped the giver avoid capital gains taxes. I look forward to celebrating the new year with a strong report to you about our positive financial position. To help me do that, I ask you to take the step as you read this to click and give. Please contact me with any questions.
