From the Principal...Kristy McKnight
A special thanks to PTO and all families for providing the staff with snacks, drinks, and a delicious Smitty's dinner on Thursday night! We so appreciate your generosity!
Below you will find information regarding our PTO Fund the Foxes campaign. As we are not holding our typical fundraising events, such as Boo Bash, our Fund the Foxes campaign will be the major source of funds to support the students and staff at Ferson Creek this school year.
Thank you so much for your continued support and partnership in your child's education.
Enjoy your long weekend!
Kristy McKnight
Lift Your Voice Community Project
There is a great opportunity for all musicians happening this weekend! The Lift Your Voice movement is encouraging any and all musicians to play "together" this Saturday, October 10th. Stand outside on your porch or driveway and share music with your community!
Here is a little about the project:
Covid-19 has forced us to adopt a lifestyle of physical distancing, but we are still a community! Let's create a piece of performance art that showcases our connection to each other in spite of physical separation...and let's dedicate our music to all of our friends and neighbors! On October 10th, at 6:30 pm go outside your home - front yard, backyard, balcony, porch, open window - and perform the piece continuously for as long as you want. You do NOT need to match tempo or rhythm with anyone else you might hear doing this! You may hear other performers in your area, or you may only hear yourself. But know that, for these few minutes, you are a part of an enormous performance, and the whole is greater than any one person could possibly perceive. Check out the full story here: https://liftyourvoice2020.weebly.com/
The project is recommending the tune "''tis a Gift to be Simple," an old song which reminds us to be thankful for where we are and what we have together. The melody has been used countless times in movies and larger works of music like Aaron Copland's Appalachian Spring
You can download the music here: https://liftyourvoice2020.weebly.com/music.html
If you'd like to participate, don't forget to snap a photo and share it with the tag #Liftupyourvoice
