Morning Drop-Off
We have had a large group of students waiting at the doors unsupervised. This is dangerous!
Thank you for keeping your students in the car with you until you see Safety Patrol and staff!
Upcoming Events
As a reminder, any visitor (parents included) must show a government-issued photo id to enter the school. Thank you for having yours ready each time you come to school!
Halloween Information
Halloween Costumes
Students are invited to wear basic costumes to school on Friday, October 28th. Families should work with their students to select costumes that are comfortable for the entire school day. Students need to be able to use the restroom in their costume without assistance. Please be advised that students may not wear costumes that contain any type of a weapon (real or play), blood, or scary costumes that are not elementary school appropriate. Also, no face paint for the school day.
Halloween Parade
We will be having an outdoor Halloween parade! We would like to invite families to join as spectators for this event. Siblings can attend this part of the day.
When: Friday, October 28th at 2:30pm
Where: Families will line the sidewalks from the red marquee to the back entrance (map below)
Halloween Class Party
Each classroom will have a brief celebration after the parade. Parents can attend the celebration, but we ask for no siblings (younger or older). The celebrations are designed for the elementary students in the classroom, and space is limited.
If parents would like to attend the classroom party, you can show your photo id, check in and get a visitor badge before the parade to assist in getting to classroom parties faster. After getting the visitor badge, parents will move to the parade route. The office will begin this process at 2:10pm.
End of Quarter Information - Viewing Canvas Courses and First Quarter Grades
At the end of each quarter, courses in Canvas will conclude and will no longer be visible on the Canvas app and website. Courses for this year’s first quarter will conclude on October 13th at 11:59pm. Report cards will be generated and families will be able to view first-quarter grades on ParentVUE at the end of the day on Friday, October 21st.
How do I view my child’s report card?
- Log in on ParentVue.
- Select your elementary student’s name
- In the left navigation bar, choose Report Card
If you have questions about Standards-Based Grading as you view your child’s report card, please review the information found on the Elementary Report Card resource page.
Each new quarter, classroom teachers will publish their next quarter Canvas course. As courses are published, students and families will again be able to see current courses on the Canvas app and Canvas website. For Canvas parent resources, visit www.bluevalleyk12.org/canvas.
