Bottle Caps for Buddy Benches

The last day to turn in plastic bottle caps will be Wednesday, April 22nd. Please do not send them to school after that date. Thank you for your support in helping us get our Buddy Benches!

Monday

Study your Wordly Wise Words

Read a book of choice for the remainder of the 20 minutes.


Tuesday

Do a writing sort to prepare for the writing sort we will do in class on Friday. Mix up the cards in a random order. Your child should flip each card over and then copy them in categories. Check for any words your child misspells.

Practice Math Fact Fluency either with flashcards or apps.


Wednesday

Study your Wordly Wise Words

Read a book of choice for the remainder of the 20 minutes.


Thursday

Read for 10 minutes. Words Their Way quiz on Friday.

Practice Math Fact Fluency either with flashcards or apps.

We are Learning...

Reading: We will finish our unit on Fairy Tales by reading an Jack and the Beanstalk Jr. Great Book.

Mrs. Jackson's Math: We are learning about money. Students will be counting a collection of coins and solving word problems that involve money.


Mrs. King's Math: We are finishing up our measuring unit and will start our data and graphing unit.


Writing: We will be putting the final touches on our Young Author books then we will share them with several classes.


Science: We will begin a new unit on life cycles. We will be focusing on the life cycles of plants and animals. We will observe the changes in plants and animals throughout their life cycles including details of their body plan, structure and timing of growth, reproduction and death. Students will be making observations on systems. We will watch caterpillars change into butterflies and then let them go.
